GeigerCars.de Dodge Challenger SRT8

The Dodge Challenger SRT8, the most recent version of the American strong arm in classic retro design is now ready for the road at GeigerCars.de, the specialist for US car tuning in Munich.

Thirty-eight years lay between the 2 models: the 2008 version of the Dodge Challenger and its historic inspiration, the 1970s version of the typical strong arm. The reincarnation of this species embodying a focus on style and concept previously attracted great attention at the 2006 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The ultimate version of the new Dodge Challenger introduced at the Chicago Auto Show was sold out in minimal time, but is now again available at GeigerCars.de.

The crew at GeigerCars.de, known for their strong commitment, has obtained a number of the mere 6,400 Challenger 2008 models to be produced. Each vehicle is virtually unique; the serial number displayed on the wagon’s interior is proof of its exclusivity.

The heart of the vehicle, as is with all mammoths, is its engine. You’ll not find any old engine- they have installed a 6.1 liter V8 Hemi. Just as in the 1973 version this engine has hemispherical combustion chambers to ensure high performance with minimal compression: 317kW/431hp at 6000rpm and 420 lb-ft (570Nm) torque at 4800rpm are the talents this classic two-valve OHV engine possesses. Not to mention the central camshaft attached below, valve pushrods and roller rocker arms with valve-clearance compensation. This high power machine modified by the Street and Racing Technology Division at Chrysler Tuning stands out above the rest due to its excellent handling. Its chassis is namely originally from Mercedes Benz – a gift resulting from the former marriage between Benz and Chrysler – specifically the model prior to today’s E class chassis (model nr. W210).

Despite the end to the merger between the two automobile giants, the framework is still produced by Mercedes and delivered to the factory in Brampton, Ontario Canada. In contrast to the simple chassis of previous models and those of competitors, this design includes a multiple steering rear axle, which provides this coupe in classic retro design with driving qualities that its counterparts cannot match.

It can achieve significantly more than those you see going through the intersection with their chassis swaying noticeably, not to forget the obligatory spinning of the rear wheels at the light. The Doge Challenger SRT8 has an undercarriage that is designed relative to its potential and in combination with its direct steering both an active drive and a relaxing cruise down the boulevard is an enjoyment.

On the road its power surfaces from a 5-gear automatic transmission produced in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim. Polished 20 inch alloy rims in a sharp five-spoke design with ultra high performance tires size 255/45 ZR 20 ensure appropriate momentum is gained. In the front size 245/45 ZR 20 tires have been mounted.

Taming this force is the job of the Brembo anti-lock braking system with 360mm front and 350mm rear internally ventilated brake disks. A strong kick on the brakes and its speed of up to 170mph (274km/h) is reduced significantly.

The Dodge Challenger with this set up combined with its sharp details reflective of the 1970s demonstrates power in attractively designed, fascinating, and stylish bodywork. This incomparable mix resonates with fans of the Challenger worldwide. Not without reason is the average wait two and a half years for a model. Currently more than 15,000 orders have been placed with Dodge for this model.

The interior, which is available in three colors (Bright Silver Metallic, Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl und Hemi Orange Pearl) compliments well with the bodywork. A SRT leather interior with suede accents on the seats can be combined with the fitting elements in aluminum or carbon fiber design. Air conditioning, a computer, a multimedia entertainment system, multi-level airbags, and a tire pressure monitor are just some of the features available to choose from that constitute the must haves in today’s day and age for such a mammoth in high demand.
